Welcome to my page and thank you for your interest in my company !
My name is Christine and I am the founder of l’ âme de cheval. I come from a family that back in the days used to have more than 250 horses. The picture you see in the backround was painted by my father when I was a little child. I thought it to be the perfect pictured representation of l’âme de cheval {the horses soul} as it captions an injured horse that is expressing its pain. It also represents our love and connection for these animals through generations. Since I was born, I was surrounded by horses. I grew up on a beautiful estate in the middle of nature where there were 25 horses from all kinds of races living together in a herd. I feel so blessed to been able to see their behaviour almost as in true nature, as they would stand on wide paddocks. So I had the opportunity to stand with them and forgetting the time… I could watch them for hours and by observing them, I learned a lot about their behaviour and the way they communicate. Not only with each other but with me as well. If someone would ask me to describe horses I would say they are beautiful beyond messure, very strong and powerful in their body as well as in their senses, with a very sensitive heart and a stong longing to being free. They only let you into their hearts by gaining their trust. If you have that, the horse shows its true character. Its soul is free!…
Later when we moved I was at different stables and I saw that horses were treated differently. I saw that they were tried to be dominated and I could feel that these horses have completely shut down their heart and stopped their communication with humans. Their soul wasn’t free..
My horse had a similar past. His heart was completely shut off when I met him. When I rode him the first time, he would fall down twice on purpose to get rid of me. But after some time and with lots of love and patience he opened up to me. He slowly recognized I understood his language and that I would give him enough space to feel free to express himself. Slowly he started to communicate with me. He learned that our relationship would never be one of domination but built on trust. He felt very safe around me and became a happy horse and we could enjoy many beautiful and funny moments and adventures together!
‘Our horses deserves to feel the same happiness we feel, when they are around.’
..that’s what I think and this is also what I hope I can send out with this company to as many people! I hope you are having the best time with your horses and I hope your horses are having their best time with you!
With all my heart,
Christine.
